Art Requirements
Art Requirements for Industrial Printing & Design: Ensuring High-Quality Prints
At Industrial Printing & Design, we strive to deliver exceptional print products that exceed your expectations. To achieve the best results, it is important to provide us with artwork that meets certain specifications. Here are our art requirements:
1. Resolution: For optimal print quality, all submitted artwork should have a resolution of 300 DPI. DPI refers to the number of dots per inch, and a higher DPI ensures sharper and more detailed prints. Artwork with lower resolutions may result in pixelation or blurriness when printed.
2. File Format: We accept artwork in various file formats, including PDF, EPS, AI, and PSD. These formats preserve the image quality and allow for easy manipulation if required. When submitting artwork, please ensure that it is saved in one of these compatible formats.
3. Bleed and Margins: To avoid any unwanted white borders or gaps, please include a bleed area in your artwork. A bleed extends the design beyond the final trim size, typically by 0.125 inches or 3mm on all sides. This ensures that when the artwork is trimmed, there are no white edges. Additionally, important text or elements should be kept within a safe margin to prevent them from being too close to the trim line.
4. Color Mode: For full-color printing, please submit artwork in CMYK color mode. CMYK represents the four ink colors used in the printing process: cyan, magenta, yellow, and black. This color mode ensures accurate color representation and produces vibrant prints. If your artwork is in RGB color mode (used for digital displays), please convert it to CMYK before submission to avoid color discrepancies.
5. Fonts and Text: To ensure that your text appears as intended, please convert all fonts to outlines or embed them in the artwork file. This step eliminates the need to have the exact fonts installed on our systems and prevents any font-related issues during the printing process. Make sure your text is legible and properly sized to maintain readability in the final print. Layered artboard should be flattened.
6. Image and Graphics Quality: When including images or graphics in your artwork, ensure that they are of high resolution and quality. Images with a resolution below 300 DPI may appear pixelated or blurry when printed. It is recommended to use high-quality images and vector graphics whenever possible to maintain sharpness and clarity.
7. Proofing: Before submitting your final artwork, we strongly encourage you to review and proofread it thoroughly. Check for any spelling errors, alignment issues, or design inconsistencies. Requesting physical or digital proof from us can help you visualize how your artwork will look in the final print and make any necessary adjustments before production.
By following these art requirements and providing us with artwork at 300 DPI, you can ensure that your prints will be of the highest quality, with sharp details, vibrant colors, and accurate representations of your brand. If you have any questions or need assistance with preparing your artwork, our knowledgeable team is always here to help.
